I’m writing this in my apartment. I now have a cat (Mortimer), I’ve never had a cat before. It doesn’t seem to like me very much and it is sleeping in the closet and on top of piles of merch, which annoys me. I wish it turned into a dog, specifically my old dog Rupee that died.
I don’t think I like this cat very much. Does this make me a bad person? Of course this doesn’t. Regardless, I might have to kill it before the sun comes up.
We just finished the Europe leg of our Relax tour. It wasn’t bad. I might have to further investigate the city of London in the near-future, along with a few others. We’re going to take 4 weeks off to work on not comitting suicide, TV shows, music and bad films. Hopefully none of the results ever see the light of day and we can go on with the charades, as per usual!

I’m sitting and using the computer in the lobby of the Eden Star Hotel in Hengelo, The Netherlands. One more week in Europe (Berlin, Copenhagen) before Hima heads to India, Vic heads to Cuba and I head back to New York City to continue producing chunky-style salsa.

Not quite. The last official date for the Relax tour is this Wednesday’s sold out date at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, but that’s just a bugged-out coda for me.
I’m writing this in my apartment in Brooklyn while watching a live stream of Zucotti Park/Occupy Wall Street. The window is getting increasingly dominated by cops wearing riot helmets. The whole Occupy movement started less than ten days before the beginning of the tour, and other than a few run-ins (mostly accidentally) in other cities, I’ve barely acquainted myself with the movement, and now it looks like I won’t get the chance. Not so sure what else to say about that right now other than the people running shit, and cops, suck.
It’s been a weird six weeks, my knees are completely shot, my voice is shot, I feel we might have disappointed as many fans as we’ve entertained and I didn’t make very much paper at all. We’re working on a few tricks for our Europe tour coming up in a few short weeks and then I think it’s time for us to start working on some awesome and new shit, collectively and independently, for 2012. Before we kill ourselves (or the world ends, anyway).
